Pete:
Toy Fair 2013, and I'm standing with Tony Limrick, who we met at Gadget Show Live at Christmas. Hello there, Tony.
Tony:
Hi Pete - good to see you again.
Pete:
And in the background, you can hear the FrequencyCast theme tune. The reason we're doing this is, you have a lovely little pink thing dancing to the FrequencyCast theme.
Tony:
The "pink thing", as you call it, is the Tosy robot, dancing robot, DiscoRobo from Logicom. Effectively, it's available in blue and in pink, so I've referred to the pink as the she. So what she actually does is, she listens to the music, and then she will dance to that music, so as the beat of the music changes, she changes the way she dances, the facial expression will change, so whatever music we're playing, she will act to that music.
Pete:
So the Tosy, when will this be on the market in the UK?
Tony:
The Tosy DiscoRobo and DiscoRobo Superstar are planned for the end of Q2, early Q3.
Pete:
And what sort of price point are we looking at, as an entry point for these?
Tony:
We're looking at a start price of about £49.
Pete:
Now, I remember the old dancing flowers, many many moons ago. The technology's moved on a bit here, and we've got all sorts of weird facial expressions going on. She's obviously enjoying our theme tune there.
Tony:
The dancing flower would just literally move from left to right. It was picking up music, but it wasn't dancing to the music. This is actually going to dance to the music, and you'll see, as the music changes, she changes the way she dances, and her facial expression changes. So the technology's moved on so much more from the dancing flower.
Pete:
Tony, if someone wants to find out more, where can they go?
Tony:
If they go to http://logicom-uk.com, then they'll find us there.
Pete:
And also, I'm assuming you're still selling your love massagers that our Kelly tried last time round?
Tony:
The massagers, as well as the Spy-C Tank - absolutely. Anything robotic, that's what we're about.
