Our Pete was recently interviewed on Phoenix FM. After mentioning this in our August show, we’ve had a couple of requests to hear a longer version. So here it is!
Phoenix FM and FrequencyCast
On the 12th of July 2012, our Pete was asked along to community radio station Phoenix FM, based in Essex. As part of the interview, Pete was asked about the FrequencyCast podcast, what it is, and how to listen. On this page, you’ll find an audio extract of the interview. Nice to hear Pete being interviewed for a change – as normally he’s the interviewer, not the interviewee.
As we mentioned abouve, Pheonix FM is one of the many community radio station in the UK, run on a non-profit basis to serve the local community. Phoenix FM is based in Brentwood, Essex, and does a great job of serving its community, reflected by the fact that it can be heard in a lot of local shops in the area (always a good sign). For more on this station, go to www.phoenixfm.com
Pete appeared on the Drivetime Show, presented by Scott Ross, and Scott was keen to ask, on behalf of the listeners, just what a podcast is, and how to listen.
Scott also asked Pete what the hot topic of the moment was as far as FrequencyCast listeners are concerned. Well, technically, it’s the ongoing Apple vs Android debate that’s featured in our last couple of shows, but we thought it’d be more appropriate to bring up another hot topic, that of the impending problems with Freeview TV reception when the Government sells of part of the old TV band to 4G mobile phone network providers. Nearly a million people will be hit with disruption to Freeview, according to Government estimates, and those affected will need to get a filter to screen out mobile phone signals.
Thanks again to Phoenix FM for making us welcome. Hopefully you’ll let us on again one day to plug the podcast once again!
