In response to emails from two listeners, we’ve now made a longer version of our interview with Bob and Keith, two of the team behind the London amateur radio station for the Olympics, 2o12L.
It seems that even though only a tiny percentage of our listeners are radio hams, this feature has attracted some interest, and we’re getting questions about the hobby and how to take part. Obviously, getting down to London to see the station is a great first-step, as you can get a taste of the hobby and find out how to join in.
If a few more of you are interested in the amateur radio hobby, we could look to do a special feature on all things amateur radio. Any interest? Please add a comment below.
Anyway, as requested, we’re happy to offer you a longer version of the feature, which includes a little more information about the technical set-up, which we left out of the last show as we didn’t think the bulk of our listeners would be interested.
The antennas that Pete was reportedly “drooling over” can be seen here in the picture of the 2012L building:
Any interest in us featuring more about ham radio, please let us know. Alternatively, it you want to stop Pete banging on about it, or think we should get Kelly into the hobby… just add a comment below.
To our ham listeners – 73!
