Something of a first for FrequencyCast – instead of heading off to a gadget show, we headed off to a rather different kind of show, London Film and Comic Con 2012:
Pete and Kelly boldly trekked along to the Mecca for all things sci-fi, fandom and comic, and had lots of fun talking to the exhibitors, fans, stars and some of the more unusual characters that hang out at sci-fi conventions.
For our next show, due out on the first of August, we’ll be featuring a small sample of the material we gathered at this year’s show, but we’ve also released a special extended version, which includes:
- Kelly’s first impressions of her first convention
- The 10th Doctor, queuing patiently
- Interviews with Dave Prowse and Jane Badler
- An interview with the maker of origami Star Wars figures
- The keeper of the Tardis and K-9
- Plus Firebox, selling a rather unique and personalised superhero experience
The full 23 minute show is attached to this blog post, or you can get it, plus some pictures, here: London Film and Comic Con 2012 Review
Obvious, Kelly’s first experience of a convention was rather amusing… fortunately her worried look turned into a happy one by the end of the day, especially once she had a stroke with dear old K-9, stroked the Batmobile and had a go on a rather lifelike Lightsabre
We hope you like our look at this convention – first time we’ve done one, and something a little different for us. We’d be interested to know if you found this fun and interesting… Hopefully makes a nice change for the technical reviews we work on, and there was still a nice piece of tech buried away there – the 3D printer, and the idea of emailing a spanner up to the International Space Station.
