Well, that’s the claim of our show’s presenter Carl in our latest update.

FrequencyCast – UK Tech Radio Show
The online radio show covering UK digital TV and technology
Hi Carl and Pete,
Love the show, keep up the arguments…v amusing.
Well my take on this is your argument is too broad a scope for any real instant evaluation.
consider this:
Yes Windows has far more users, many like myself begrudgingly forced, through business sector penny pinching procurement officer Bureaucracy.
America probably has the general image of being more ‘Maccy’ due to it being the corporations natural home. Indeed product placement in films and TV both the here and there is on the up (though James Bond definitely isn’t a Mac…Sony vio). Apple macs are just cool looking pieces of kit, thats it..end of..no question, hence their use to make things look cool. A British film recently screened on CH4 ‘Breaking and entering’ with Jude Law and Ray Winston had a scene when Ray (the Detective investigating the series of robberies) states ‘Macs eh…lovely pieces of kit..you gotta love em’ or words to that effect. If anyone can find that snippet please? A blog i recently scanread stated that the blogger had noticed at a recent computer security conference how ironic it was to see all these company data security experts using Macs. Agreed, they aren’t the cheapest of options..I say you get what you pay for.
PC’s have their place in the world of computing and provide an important cheap alternative to home users and the business sector who have long term goals with short term hardware requirements to cut costs. In my experience working in IT, people who can afford Macs and justify the expense..always go Mac. Those that cannot justify or afford the extra expense buy a PC, but wish they could get a Mac. Some are just plain scared and suspicious of anything new and go with what they know.
In the UK and America consider that nearly all common media you are exposed to, at one point, was either conceived or processed on a Mac. Thats a lot of users. Yes even your own podcast…what servers do you think iTunes use to store your xml metadata to download your show? Definitely NOT a Dell!
so in a nutshell what I’m trying to say is (Carl, I’m trying really hard to be neutral here)…it depends on what you intend to use your computer for, financial constraints and preference as to who uses what. I’d say the balance is tipping in the younger generation, who generally lead the consumer market and generally are incredibly media literate. So the Mac is catching up.
Media=Mac
Business=PC
America and Britain use both Macs and PC’s. DRAW.

p.s Lets make a feature of:
‘What can Carl drop down the toilet this week…fish or flush and will it still work??”
p.p.s I voted for you…..where’s my Toblerone?
I’m a MAC covert and will never go back. Superb systems well build and stable, easy to setup and use. Only big problem that I have is that I have to use Office to keep 100% computability with work stuff. Unfortunately this is rather buggy – oh yes it comes from Microsoft!
